Home made mirror brackets?
Hey everyone. I've been trying to find things to make mirror relocation brackets with, but I can't think of anything.
I'm not really looking to buy some brackets. There are some on Quadratec I could buy, but I'd much rather make my own.

I bent some 3/8" dia rod and threaded the end of it, welded a washer to it for a stop and slid it into my hinge barrel. Put a nut on the bottom and welded a tab to the top for mirror attachment. Bought a cheap mirror from the auto parts store and painted everything black. Easy installation when the doors come off in the spring.

I made 'em. Perhaps somebody in your area can make a set for you.

I used some cheap L brackets from the local hardware store. Drilled the holes out a bit, then mounted some motorcycle stem style mirrors on them. Cheap and easy
Note. Very old pic. They have been painted and the chrome mirrors are gone in favor of black ones

That's pretty cool. Do you know the exact name for those brackets? I just googled them and it's coming up with some home repair kinds and whatnot.

Those are them. Just simple metal L brackes. Don't remember the length. Think they were 3 or 4". All I did was measure the hinge and figure out how long I needed em, cut one side short with a Dremel and drilled the existing holes out to the size I needed.
