Home made boomerang shackles-input

I've designed my own boomerang shackles based off some drawings I found here for 1" (6" eye to eye) lift boomerangs. The one's I've designed are for 0" lift (5" eye to eye).

Here is the reduced drawing:

These drawings are 1"=1" on paper but I can't say about this image. If you want to use these I suggest transferring them with a ruler, square, and protractor. If there are any measurements you cannot derive from these drawings let me know.

I'm planning on rounding off the corners later.

Am I going to run into issues with the "long" end hitting the rear cross member because it's shorter than the lift shackles?

Let me know what you think

I thought stock (and therefore no lift) was 4" eye to eye, so 5" would be 1/2" lift?

Stock is 4" eye to eye. There would be no reason to make booms only 4" long (eye to eye).

That's what I was afraid of. But, with 1/2" lift they will still be effective as boomerangs?

IIRC, yes, they will still be effective. 1/2" lift being 5" bolt to bolt.

Ok. I just wanted to make sure Couchrider had the correct info, as well as anyone who may come across this thread.

Yes I'm glad you mentioned it.

As dumb as I feel, this has certainly worked out quite nicely.

Also would anyone know what torque value I should use for the center bolt?

honestly, I'm the worst for rememgering small details, but IIRC my MORE boom center bolt was in the 60-70# range. But heck, it's just a center bolt. I suspect torqueing it a little more could'nt hurt anything as long as it's not a cheap no-grade bolt.
