My heim steering works perfectly fine on the street. I just replaced the joints in it after 3-4 years of beatings and the heims were just a hair loose. With my driving like a bulldozer any TRE would have been long gone.

I only have heims for the tie rod. My drag link has OEM rod ends and a JB4x4 bracket at the right knuckle. It's only been a 8 months, but all is well so far, even with freeway driving. I just verified tightness a couple days ago.

They are fine on the street. As long as they are done right. The only downside to Heims that I've heard is longevity of the joint. Play supposedly develops sooner than with tres. But Heims have them in strength and simplicity.

Sent from my phone because I'm doing something "more important"
