You and me both!
Hopefully I can get it as bad a$$ as your rig is man. That thing has come along awesomely. Total inspiration rig!

Weather sucks today
Cold, wet, overcast. I want to work on the YJ (so much to friggin do) but I don't feel like hanging out in the sh*t weather...yet. We'll see as the day progresses.

Cheers

I'm seriously contemplating just removing my body lift all together. I know the 1" is pretty sweet and makes cleaning a breeze (for those following along, I have a 2.5" BL right now put on by the PO), but I'm thinking that I can just wait to do that until I can afford an MML, custom skid, and the rest of the tummy tuck. In the meantime, rocking 35s on 3" of lift would be pretty cool.

Almost as cool as Zte and his 37s on 4" lol.

It would save me about $150.00 that I could put to better use right now. It would only cost me maybe $10.00 in new hardware to remove the pucks and drop it back down....

Thoughts?

Cheers

Coming from you? I'm freaking sold. Add that to the list of projects to tackle this week then!

Can the weather gods freaking please cut me some slack? It's like 30* outside. How the hell did we go from 78* last week to the 30's this week? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Unpacked my Metalcloaks. They are even beefier than I expected! Pretty excited about them. I'm thinking about just painting them in my house lol.

Cheers

Parts!

Got the Metalcloaks, rear lap belts, VDP 6 speaker sound bar, Smittybilt Stereo Security Console all to put in...

And one more poser shot of the new meats. They sure are sexy!

I may end up having to wait a few more days for the 'cloaks. Weather is supposed to warm back up to the high 60's by Friday. I'm sure I can find more to do until then, including dropping that body lift. Besides, that would make for an even better "before/after" photo!

Cheers

Thanks bud! As soon as I have my drive shaft put back in, I'm good to go! Hopefully tomorrow it'll be ready and I won't have to fight it in. My Jeep is just front wheel drive right now lol.

Justin got his wheels in today. He just stopped by on his way to get them mounted with new tires, a BB, and new shocks. I helped him get his rock sliders on the other day, and this evening we're going to get his rear carrier all set up. So he should be good to go too!

Cheers

Lol dammit you're not helping!
What little patience I have is stretched pretty thin and you're just pushing me to jump haha.

The sun is coming out however...I see some blue sky out there. Maybe this afternoon it will be warm enough for the paint to stick!

cheers

Awesome job on the jeep so far! You've done a good job at picking quality parts for our rig, (OME leafs, Bilstein shocks, SYE...). I run OME leafs and 1/2 shackles for about 3" of lift on 35s on my YJ, I love this setup! It's super stable offroad and handles Better on the hyw then stock. I did have to do quite a bit of trimming to the fenders but I also have 2" of stretch in the rear so you wouldn't have to cut as much...

I see your having trouble finding an 8.8. How many 97-02 jeep XJ's are in your area? They have a 29 spline Chrysler 8.25 rear axle, it's plenty strong for 35" tires and can be had for free-$100. They do have drum brakes but you can swap ZJ disk on it. I run this axle with 4.56, Detroit locker, disks and its held up to some hard wheeling/heavy pedal. It's a extremely under rated axle and is as strong as a D44 for a fraction of the price of a D44 or 8.8. Just a thought if you can't find a 8.8.

Here's a pic of my rig to give you an idea of what your rig will look like with no BL. OME 36R leafs, half inch shackles, 35s and lots of trimming. 96" wheelbase.
