I am just going to assume you mean 100kph and not 100mph. With 32's the best option for the "4 angry squirrels" is a regear of both diffs.

Wow. It took me a minute to figure out your talking 100KPH and not 100MPH, right?

So about 62 MPH? That's about as fast as my TJ goes with 30" tires. Not much you can do to go faster, except for a turbo or supercharger

if your TJ only goes 65 and its only on 30's there is something definatly not right with it.

agreed i have 31's on stock gearing and i can hold about 75 on flat ground and about 60 or 65 up hills..........to the OP i would say go to 4.88 gears if you haven't yet, that will put you back as close to stock as you can get........there is not much of a cure to the almighty 4 banger

Sure It will go faster on flat ground or down hills, but there's not really much flat ground where I live in Colorado.

Its that age old guestion

I have seen where people on here have asked this question lots of time. Thing is unless you got some mad horse power and the perfect gear ratio you really aren't going to get a lot of speed out of a jeep. They basically are a box on wheels so aerodiamatics are out of the quetion.

I'm sure that most people will agree with me that if your rig is lifted with some good tires you basically will lose speed (if not 5th gear all together). Besides speed kills....low end torque is where its at if you are mudding, playing in the sand or rock crawling

Yeah, I guess I have to remember that, meaning that if I'm going on the highway, it seems flat, but there is probably a 1, maybe 2 maybe 3 percent grade or whatever. I can hit 75 to 80 or so on a good flat part, though.

On the way up to Denver from the Springs, Monument hill is the worst; it widens to three lanes for the big 18 wheelers, and I have to get over in that lane and usually crest the top of the hill at about 55. On the other side, it's great and I can usually hit good speeds there.

Also, always seems like there's a good head wind to make things worse.

You flat landers need to remember that the air is thinner up here in the mountains. Our engines will not develop the power at altitude that they will at sea level, hence slower top speeds and often worse mileage. Even my turbo diesel doesn't do as well at home as it does when I am in California.

Yep its a jeep. Its shaped like a brick. And when was the last time you saw a fast 4 banger that was truning anything larger than 25s?

Have you changed your speedometer gear to compensate for the larger tires? If not, your speedometer will read 100 when you are actually going 112! That sentence seems so wrong when talking about a 4 banger Jeep! Silly metric system!

First off...the only answer to your situation is to regear to a lower ratio (higher numerically) and if you've increased the size of your tires significantly, as you have, then doin' so will make your life so much nicer...

Secondly, for the gent in Provo, I don't agree at all about your contention that engines will not run as well at altitude...Yeah, true statement if the engine is tuned for 'the flatlands', but if it has been adjusted for altitude, there's absolutely NO reason that an engine won't run just as well at higher altitudes...and this isn't nearly as big a deal with a fuel injected engine as it is with a carbed engine... My understanding of FI is that it automatically adjusts for altitude...
