High pitched whirring in 1,2,3rd gears.

The rest of the vehicle is beautiful, but lately I've been getting a high pitched whining that rises and falls with the RPMs in first, second, and third, but stops when I shift into fourth.

Also, the shift has felt a little sticky getting into first and reverse lately.

Any thoughts?

(thanks)

For posterity's sake, I'm updating 3 years later, after the transmission finally died. It was a failing countershaft. Not sure whether it was bearings or what the deal was, but 4th gear is the only direct-drive gear.

If you need the full info, it's in my posts or PM me directly!

I appreciate you posting a follow up. Many of the threads I read are wasted space since no follow up or advice was offered.

ha ha, thanks.

Yeah, I remember having the same frustration while doing searches for issues. I want to make sure none of mine do the same.
