on my old YJ the best place I found to keep it out of the way was on the front bumper.

I doubt it would fit under the hood, but I could be wrong. Here is where I have mine:

If you still have your bumperettes...I keep mine laying horizontal with the base and lifting mechanism resting in the passenger side bumperette and the top of the hi-lift resting on the top of the driver's side bumperette. It sits between the inside of the spare tire and the body. You'll need to cut small sections of hose or something to insulate the metal to metal contact and the base to body contact on the passenger side.

I'll try to take a pic the next time I 'borrow' work's digital camera.

Unless your running a 50cc weedwacker motor under there, it aint gonna fit. Front or rear bumpers can be rigged to carry it though.

You can see on either end a bolt comes out of the bumper and through a hole. Drilled hole at the end of each bolt with a master lock through each.

There comes a time... In every mans life, when decisions... have... to be made. Whether to toil, to labor, or just plain piss your days away.
