Thanks!
grip on the floor.. no carpet= can leave top off and no mildew..... protects against rust... looks awesome.

How long does it last before needed to be re-done/touched up?

just depends on how much damage you give it.

I just herculined my tub on my TJ, and after 2 coats, I still have a little more than a 1/4 left of the gallon, was I putting it on to light?, should I give it one more coat?

You can use it all if you'd like and just have a thicker coat. I had quite a bit left and did extra coats in the heavier traffic areas. Floorboards, rear cargo area, etc.

You probably put it on too light if you have that much left over. I'd recommend using it all. No reason to waste it.

Mine hasn't been on that long, but it dries very hard, so it seems to be pretty durable. It dries rough like sandpaper and will take the skin off your knuckles very easily :-) It's not rubbery like you might expect.

Good call, I will put more coats where it will get the most abuse. Thanks

just put on the second coat

Almost everything has been said, but I will add that buying the cheapest respirator (even with the correct filter) is probably not the way to go.

It seems to work okay when my head is straight up, but whenever I bend over, I get a big whiff of xylene or whatever it is. No headache yet, but a pretty good buzz that is probably not too healthy.

If I ever do anything like this again, I'll spend more than $25 and get a better mask.

Most mega-home improvement stores sell rollers that are made just for painting pipes (tubing)

I am finally getting around to installing my herc this week. I have one question though. With the bare metal, after you prime it, can you put the herc right down on top of the primer or should you clean it and scuff it first?????

I scuffed the primered spots, Herc'd over that and it is holding up fine after 16 months. The primed spots were in high wear areas, which of course still remain high wear areas and there is no sign of it loosening up any at all.
