Help with the Transmission

I have an 89 YJ and after I drive it for awhile, the stick shift loses the flex/pressure in neutral (if that makes any sense). Instead of it having a spring-like effect, it just falls to either side.

Any ideas....sorry for the explanation, kind of hard to do.
