Help transfer case nuts missing

Well I was going over the heep to make sure it is ready for its madden voyage and noticed that the nuts that attaché the transfer case to the skid plate are missing. Does anyone know what size and thread these nuts are so I can go pick some up at home depot.

UMM....There are no bolts that go from the tcase to the skidplate.. There are 2 bolts or nuts( depending on the mount) for the transmission. 3/8" I think. There is also a torque arm off the tranny mount thats a 5/16".

I now I am tired but I could of sworn that these studs were attached to the transfer case.



also should this bolt be tight or touching anything? Right now it is loose and nothing is touching it up top.

if you look close i think they go into a mount between the t case and back of tranny and the second one is the torke arm that bolt into a brcket on the top side. it should have rubber washers on the top and it shoud be tight, mine was loose for a long time but i finally got the thing tightened up.

OK your's is differnet then mine. I use the 2 frt holes/ slots. Anyway 3/8" x 18 nuts should be it. I think..

Mine looks the same, i was sure my new mount has threads on it that connect to the skid plate. I havent installed it yet

It looks like its your transmission mount and torque arm bolts. Replaced my transmission mount a couple weeks ago it had collapsed to the point the transfer case was hitting the skidplate. Had to use a jack to hold the transmission in place then lowered the skid plate to remove the mount then put it back together again. I have the old BA 10 and the mount was in a different spot but I think its the same thing. Not sure the size of the bolt and nut that was on the mount. If your mount is worn out anyway may be a good time to get a new one at autozone $24.99 I think and then take it to a local hardware store to get new nuts and large washers for it.

Ya know, guys, I gotta confess something... asking the size of fasteners on these forums is so...well, I was gonna call it something non-PC... Come on, if yer gonna work on these vehicles, ya GOTTA be able to puzzle this simple s**t out! Take fifty bucks go out and get an assortment of common fasteners 1/4" thru 1/2" so you always have some in stock, and TRY THEM OUT where they need to go!!! OR use the thread gauges that are available!
