Help; running hot issues

1990 YJ, 350 sbc mild built, 160 deg t/stat, Howe 4 core racing radiator w/dual electric fans. On open roads runs about 190 to 200 deg. Idleing or on trails running 220 to 230 & comes up quickly. manual guage which is accurate

did you check the thermostat works? enough fluid

Yes new stat, had 195 in it & its was worse and coolant is full and circulating. Also has new htr core & all hoses

are you sure you have a good flow from the water pump? can you check what the difference is between the upper and lower hose for temp?
