help

i recently purchased a lockrite for my front d30. While putting it in i noticed that the cross shaft retaining bolt was not in. there was a roll pin in place of it. my question is what should i do. should i drill it out and put another back in or do i have to buy a new carrier. I already got the new cross shaft. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Roll pin is not uncommon. Don't try to change it to a bolt.

A long narrow punch from the ring gear side of the carrier. The hole goes all the way thru.

Sorry about that, I didn't realize you weren't sure how to get it out. Like Matt said, use a pin punch, they come in different sizes, make sure you use the right size.
