Will a blower motor out of a post '92 work in an older yj?

Necroposter!!
Well, at least you didn't start yet another thread.

As it is now, if you go buy a new blower motor for a YJ it is the same part number as the upgraded Chevy motor. So I guess it's not a "mod" anymore but rather a "stock replacement" that just so happens to kick ***.
And at $20 for the motor, there's not to get it.

This was an amazing upgrade from my stock 90 YJ.. Everything was turn key except for the firewall opening. I used the ring as a template and scribed the inside. Cut the hole with a jigsaw and was very impressed when I turned it on for the first time. Funny thing was NAPA gave me the big blazer motor as the replacement for the Jeep OEM. If I had not been reading the forums I may have taken it back as it clearly was the wrong size for the firewall... Heh.. It pays to read!

With the PM 102 in my 1990 YJ it was just the motor. be prepared to use some careful tinsnips on your firewall though. The new motor has a larger diameter housing to hold the larger junk inside.

Difference in output is drastic, to say the least.

They're the same part number now.
