Heater upgrade (amazing)
I just did the heater motor upgrade all i can say is wow amazing. Blows twice as hard and feels like a leaf blower LoL. It took me about 3 hours to do was not to hard plus i had to rewire the new motor cause the new one only had a plug for power and not ground so i took it apart and re riveted it together. I highly recommend doing it.

Where is the article on this forum for the 'YJ' heater-moter upgrade? I can only find the one for a CJ.
Thanks, -OneLung

Actually as far as the part# goes, all you need to do is ask for a YJ blower motor. I've checked at several major parts suppliers and the Siemens part# for Blazers and non-a/c YJs is PM102. Somebody must have realized that most people were getting the Blazer motor anyway. PM105 is for Blazers with a/c or heavy duty heaters.

That being said, if one were to get the PM105 would that be a better upgrade than the 102??????

Yeah, I had wondered that myself. Don't know what the difference would be.

The difference between them is 45cfm and the PM105 is 3/16" larger diameter. Mine works great.

So for the simplest install, the PM102 is the way to go.....

i got the 3358 from advanced auto it is there part number for the 105. Now i did not have to cut the firewall or anything i slid the ring off the motor and then put the motor through and put the ring back on. What i had to do which was a major PITA was to rewire the motor to use the stock wiring harness. The new motor only had a post for a power and not a plug like the old one The post also hit the fire wall so the motor could not fit flush. That said on the new motor i had to drill out the rivits and disassemble it and rewire it so that it would sit flush and i could use the factory plug. I then put the motor back together and grounded it to my frame. I mean it was not really hard just more time consuming then anything else trying to get the brushes back in the motor and everything so it was right. I mean the motor swap made a world of difference. Any questions that i can help with PM me i'd be more then happy to try to help anyone i can.

I know that this will work for early yj's but has anyone tried this for a late model yj?

Late models don't require it as they already have upgraded heater motors. This was changed in the '92 model year. Before then the heater motors were poor at best.
