after lookin at all these heater threads... i was thinkin about my heater. is it just me or does yall's heaters make a buzzin noise? i think there is something wrong with it but i dont know. it sounds like a leaf is stuck in the heater or something. but im sure thats not it. could it be the blower?

my blower sounds similar to what you are describing. but i know mine is on its lasts leg. it only works on high.

probably not the blower motor itself that's causing it to work only on high then. the blower has 2 settings, on and off. speed is adjusted by the blower motor resistor mounted on the pass side of the heater housing. usually when the resistor goes the blower only has the high setting because the resistor isn't there to lower the input to the motor to slow it down.

My blower motor is new, just installed a few weeks ago. It does make a slight buzzing noise while running. My old one made one hell of a noise, very high pitched, very annoying.
You can tell winter is coming when all the heater threads start up... especially from us northern folks.
I'm already eyeballing my hard top.

lol im in the south. lol. the lowest it gets here is like 17 or so. but its a loud buzzing. like when u were young and put a playing card on ur bike to make it sound like a dirt bike or maybe even a jeep.... xD

LOL!!! I was doing the same thing earlier this week. The nights are getting cool....Plus I don't drive a WK with an unknown transfer case....

It sounds like there is something (a foreign object?) contacting the fan blade. Sometimes things like leaves, plastic shopping bags, etc. get into the housing & get hung up. Pulling the blower motor & checking it out would be where I'd start.
