So today im driving its really cold out , the jeep is warmed up and the heater is blowing cool air thru the vents , if i press the gas or drive it really hot air comes out , but at a red light the air starts to send cool air thru agian, any ideas what this may be ?
so replace the thermostat and water pump and you will be good to go
the thermostat may or may not be the problem but they are only like $5 for a new one so its worth replacing
if the water pump is leaking then its not fully circulating the fluid so yes to your question. That and its possible that the fins are worn out on the impeller.
You are back flowing air because of the leak and the air will not let the fluids flow because the thermostat gets air behind it. Replace the pump and you won't even need to worry about the thermostat(but not a bad idea to replace it). You could end up with worse issues than no heat if that t stat gets air bound and no coolant flows.
ok i will take care of it on monday !! also im hearing a hissing noise coming from under the hood , would that be part of this problem as well.. sucks seems everything is going up at once
