headlight wiring harness replacement

Quick question guys, need to replace headlight wiring harness. I have the replacement and noticed the connection to the firewall has black , I'm assuming, water proofing material. Do I been to clean the terminals on both male and female ends prior to installation. Hit me back when you get time

Thanks Jeff ,

No, it is grease. All the electrical connectors should be filled with grease to keep water out. The connectors are water resistant not water proof.

Are you doing the relay mod, or just replacing the harness?

Do yourself a favor. Do the relay mod to save some headache. It's really easy! Relay pack and harness is not expensive at all. Did mine plus upgraded the lens' to H4 hella. I can now see at night!!
