I like my Hella E-codes (not DOT approved) with an upgraded relay harness, but I was going more for functionality than looks. From outside of the Jeep they look stock, from the drivers seat they look 10x better than stock. If you can find Cibie lights that will fit they should have a better high beam pattern, but the Hella pattern works for me especially because with the 4" lift and 33's the low beams are aimed lower than they would be on a stock Jeep. I have Cibie lights in my other car and the high beam is a much broader pattern, the high beam on the Jeep is more of a spot light. The low beam patterns look the same to me.
I have the Autopal-Hella knock offs and am satisfied.
26 bucks a pair, great light pattern. Very bright without blinding oncoming traffic or pissing cops off.
I'd rather not be pulled over at 2:00am...
Both good options provided. I have the Delta H4s with upgraded wiring harness run off relays. No complaints... but if i waited a bit, would have got those LED amazon JB Speaker knock offs (cheaper then i paid for the Delta's) and would look pretty sweet.
But definitely love the way my light is shot around. Still look pretty slick too (2nd pic is with them freshly installed and unaimed on low beam... last pic is low beam as well)

I tried Some ebay halo's and they were crap, then I went back to silver stars which have performed well. I have been eyeballing the LED's but passed a jeep with them and they were too bright on low (Possibly adjusted wrong) but I am sure that guy is gonna get pulled over. I have done a nice grill mod which makes my lights unique. The black lights in my opinion do not work very well. I will admit that although I care greatly about the headlights however with all my Auxiliary lights I do not see the value in spending a great amount of money for the lights and considering the downside super bright low beams that will most likely cause you trouble. My advice is do the relay mod, just makes sense. Get a pair of silverstars or equivalent. Spend your money on auxiliary lights as they will provide better coverage and cause you less legal issues. Just an opinion, post what you do.
They aren't DOT, but they are bright, and seem to have a decent beam pattern for the low beam. The high beam is more of a spot pattern, I have not decided if I like that or not.
I really like the look of these... and have heard good things. JBspeaker knock offs. WOuld look pretty sweet on my rig I feel - then I could park in the cool kid section at the mall, instead of like Lone Wolf McQuaid near the dumpsters
(169$ CAD - so I am sure you guys would be paying significantly less.)
Reading some of the reviews on Amazon on the cheaper multi LED units, it looks like some people have problems with hi and low beams working correctly. It does seem that all the older YJ&XJ reviews say they work great though. My guess is it's a wiring thing, or we just have low expectations.
I have Delta H4s. Just saying If i ever did change (not likely) i would have given the insect eyes a try.... Really snazzes up the front end. But they would have to be equivocal or exceed the performance of my Deltas. The more darkness we see this season, the more i grow to appreciate my decision on the Delta's and the relay upgrade. Slowly creeping into my top 5 mods territory. Its literally like I was driving with no lights previous to their install...had no idea how bad they were before - just sort of accepted it as a lifted jeep. Which i think is a flaw i have (and am sure many of us do the same).
And hey, like i said... the Delta's are really pretty as well.
A proper HID projector retrofit in an aftermarket housing with quality HID bulbs and ballasts (not ddm or ebay $35 junk) and a relay wiring harness is the best setup. The retrofit really isnt hard to do and there is a ton of information to guide you through it. I always retrofit vehicles with the kits from theretrofitsource. They even have a budget option for $135. buy pilot housings for $40 have a quality setup for cheap https://www.theretrofitsource.com/complete-retrofit-kits/universal-kits.html
second best, is the plug and play LED housings with focused light output like the jwspeakers or the trucklites are good, but expensive options and DOT approved. The cheap knockoff LED lights throw a lot of light everywhere in front of the vehicle but dont throw the the light down the road.
third best, are the quality aftermarket housings ( cibies, delta, etc) with H4 halogen bulbs and a relay wiring harnesses.
NEVER stick HID or LED bulbs in aftermarket housings. You are blinding everyone one the road and the output is crap.

I have the leds like you linked in the first post. They are great off road, but I wouldn't run them on the street. They do not cut off the pattern on the low beam, they just turn off 2/3 of the lights.
I really like the Daytime running light option I am considering something like this.
