having trouble removing bumperettes

i just bought a rock crawler tire carrier and bumper..(it's being shipped) i have to remove the 2 bumperettes first.. there are 4 bolts holding each one on..two bolts mounted vertically..side by side.. i can get to the 2 on the outside but how do i get to the two on the inside because you have to hold a wrench on the back side while loosening the bolt on the front..take a look at your yj if you have bumperettes.. e-mail globemtg33@cox.net or just post answers... thanks.. max

Just took mine off. What i did was hose the bolts down with a helathy dose of PB Blaster (God's gift to Jeepaholics). Then I cut the hoops of the bumperettes off with a sawzall (think I spelled that right). Then, I put a wrench behind the bumper to hold the nut, and had a friend crawl under the jeep and hold the wrench. Then, I used an impact wrench to get the bolt off. If you don't have an impact wrench, you can use a socket with any kind of "cheater bar" for leverage. If you don't have a friend, sucks to be you.

I just cut the bolts off with an angle grinder with a nice thin cutting blade, and then the bolts jusrt fall out!

Don't cut them. If you really want to get to them easier just remove the fuel tank guard. Or just fish an 11/16" wrench behind your bumper and you can work it so that it will catch on one of the nuts ( You won't be using your hands just a few fingers). It hurts your hands a little bit but it will save your bumperettes. So if you ever want to bring your Jeep back to stock you don't have to buy new ones. I just took mine off and it took a whole bunch of patience.
