Has anyone made a Homemade Hardtop Sunroof?
I'm making a list of a couple things I want to pick up at the boneyard, and I was wondering if anyone had ever installed a sunroof in their hardtop that didn't come with one. How difficult was it? Does it ever leak? Just wondering, I always enjoy new projects.

i put a sunroof in my hardtop.


I own a business doing custom work, sunroofs, leathers, heated seats, all kinds of stuff. I came across this pop-up and threw it in. i also found 2 more. if you interested in buying one let me know. i think the other ones I have are bigger. this one is 37 x 21.

why put one in just take the top off and go topless?

A 89 yj with a 4.0 aw4 sye out of an 92xj. Now the hard part is done time to get it up in the air just a bit. Working on 8.8 with 3.73 and lsd for the rear. and new D30 hp with 3.73 .
For those who have not figured this out I'm old school but can handle the new too.

LOL, I'm w/ dodger889. The PO put a sunroof in the hard top we had. Sold the top due to the back glass broken. New to us hard top does not. Don't miss it, besides the hard top's coming off this weekend. Time to go soft until it's warm enough to go bikini.

fall/winter when I used to drive it year round, it was great having the light coming in and the more open feel.

price wise I'll have to check to put it in I just used a jig saw with a fiberglass blade. measure and test fit a few times. no leaking problems at all. snow would sit in it with no issues

they sell the moonroofs on q-tec for 180 bucks. it's part number 71095.911
