Somebody told them Fram was bad so they believe it.
I use Fram all the time and I have used them for all my cars and trucks since 1967 and have never had any issues.
If someone tells me something is bad I expect them to back it up with facts and not because their buddy said so or they read it on the internet.

the two links i posted earlier show why fram is bad compared to other filters rubber gaskets and cardboard endplates vs silicone and metal in the turbo dodge/ shelby dodge circles their known as the orange death. ive lost 15 to 20 pounds of oil pressure using em replaced with a wix got it back ill never run a fram filter again. of ya and teflon is great for your frying pan but does not belong in a motor

Like I said somebody told you or you read it on the Internet.
Those links are one mans opinion and his findings prove absolutely nothing except some filters are made different than others.
It's a personal choice what you use,it's like comparing a Rolex to a Timex the only real difference is it costs more to know what time it is with the Rolex.

Yup, and all they say is "whats the part number?", or "what year vehical?".
When I go to one for parts for my YJ, I gotta remember a few years, and different vehicals, depending on what I looking for!

actually, they are right. cut a wix filter in half and a fram in half. you will INSTANTLY see why you shouldn't use fram. they are cheap. now, to the old schoolers, they haven't always been cheap. the turn around started about 10-15 years ago when they decided to go primarily after the retail customers and forgot about wholesalers and garages. the fact is, if you got the Silver line of filters at napa (cheapest wix ones) and the fram you would still see a significant difference.
i'm not trying to play scare tactics here, but a friend of mine and a guy i worked with for a few years had a fram collapse on him while driving and came damn close to junkin the car c/ he thought he siezed the motor.
again, i dont mean to insult anyones intelligence or opinions, but just tryin to help out and perhaps add a little longevity to your vehicle.

sounds like a "band-aid" fix, if you have a knock you might as well find the source before it ends up costing you a motor.
just my .02
cheers

It sounded like a diesel before, and it sounded like one after. But I'm sure the fact that it has 240K on it has a little someting to do about it.
I use it because of the extra ammount of oil it lets you run, plus the extra filter surface. It surely cant hurt!
