Hardtop wiring
Are all YJ's pre-wired for the rear defroster on the hardtop? My YJ came with a soft top and the hardtop that I have has a rear defroster with the plug inlet by the back glass. How can I get this wired up and working? Who, if anybody, sells a harness for it??

Not shure about everything, prewired. I know the harness is behind the dash for the defroster button and there is a fuse spot for it. As far as harness goes, if you had the hard top harness the connection would be right there in the back where the tail light wiring goes into the tub on the drivers side corner.

The dash harness is but the body harness is not, UNLESS it came ordered from the factory with the hardtop as an option.
EDIT: Look by your emergency brake for a red timer relay. It's red and says TIMER on it and the plug it goes into is red also. If that is there rthe boody harnes is all set. Now on the dash if the rear defroster switch is there and plugged into the red switch socket on the dash harness you shluod just plug the body harness into the HT harness and be good to go. |
