Hard Top Identification

Hello! Can you assist with identifying this factory hard top? I ordered soft doors (since the hard doors were stolen) and I assumed it was a YJ top.. the guys at 4WheelParts in Sacramento think its a top off a CJ7. I am going to return these doors and swap them out for the correct ones once I know for sure what top this is... (I know it wont seal like a normal hard door)

Another member on this forum seems to be rocking soft doors with his hard top here: http://http://www.jeepforum.com/foru...please-957811/

Here is mine. Please help as the doors I have right now from Bestop are difficult to close

Thanks!

Looks like a normal YJ top to me. Even if it was a CJ7 top, the door openings are the same. You might just have to do some adjusting

Grandboost.. they were saying it may be a CJ top due to the oblong silver door handle on the window on the back.. My problem is the doors are too wide up top and dont match with the curvature of the frame from the hard top.. the bottom fits like a glove

I have the same T handle on my hardtop. Its just an earlier YJ hardtop. If it was a CJ hardtop, you would have to open the hatch first and then the tailgate, where as our YJs you have to open the tailgate first.

Theres also other small differences but none of which involve the door opening

That top looks like a YJ top. I have a 1990 Yj and like your doors, the edge of the soft window is flush with the edge of the half door, but mine came with a soft top originally. I think if you had the hardtop option from the factory your doors would have the notch cut out for the top. You may be able to use the upper doors from a '97-'02 TJ to fit the top, but I don't know if they would fit your doors. I'm not sure if the YJs had a hard top/half door option.
