Wana hear a funny one?
I called my so called trusty mechanic the day I was gona have my clutch/slave cylinder replaced for a quote, I told him I had a 89 Jeep Wrangler, he said oh yeah those are easy, it will be $400 parts and labor, I said cool, I will drop it off tomorow morning. So i drop it off and then head towork with my wife in her car. My Mechanic calls me about 2 PM and says to me "MrXXXXX I know I quoted you $400 but I didnt realize it was a 4x4, 4 wheel drives are extra becouse blah blah blah he went on and on. I let him keep talking for about 2 minutes till I couldnt hold the laughter any longer. He said whats so funny, I asked him when in the hell has he ever seen a Jeep Wrangler that is not 4 wheel drive? I told him if he ever runs in to one the same year as mine that is only 2 wheel drive I will pay him double for his work. He said, oh yeah your right, my bad! needless to say he didnt get a penny more out of me, as a matter of fact Igot him to extend his warranty from 6 months to a year for me.

I've had friends go to me "Aw, nice Jeep man! Is it 4x4?" I give them a strange look, then slap them across the face and say "Da F*ck? All wrangler's are. Infact, I could be wrong, but all Jeeps made now-a-days are right? I mean, I know a few were 2x4's back in the day but I thought today they are all 4x4....

I get this ALL the time with mechanics and auto parts stores. I had someone at a transmission shop swear there were a few years there they made the YJ with 2WD only. Uh huh...right. I'm a Jeepaholic...don't argue with me on this one.

Well it just goes to show what the quality of auto parts people are out there. I am ASE parts certified and have worked in the auto parts business for about 8 years, Assistant manager of chief auto parts(now auto zone) I have never seen a 2wd Wrangler. If someone asked me that question i would say "have you checked the blinker fluid lately" and walk away. heh heh heh.

This is all too funny! I know what you all mean, i get kids at school ask that all the time... thats ok though, they do know how to turn the 4x4 dial in their ford explorers. Im surprised no one's brought it up sooner. Thanks for the laugh!
