It was a good day at the junkyard!

Was a long day, but a good day.

Here is what I aquired.....

1. 8.8 Complete rear axle with 4.10's, Limited slip diff and disc brakes
(2000 Explorer)

2. Electric radiator fan[removing the mechanical fan from the I6 swap]
(1994 Ford Taurus 3.8L)

3. 136 Amp alternator
(1998 Grand Cherokee 5.2L)

All that and didn't even have to pull it myself........for $224.17

It was a good day.

is the alternator a bolt on???
i thaught the grand cherokee's used the pcm to regulate the alternator voltage, and yj's used a built in regulator on the alternator??

depends on the year. early models used an internal regulator, later ones were external in the PCM.

sorry, i was talking about the YJ alternators. the ZJ's are all regulated like your 95, through the pcm. if the engine is MPI, then it's regulated by the computer IIRC.

so the yj's are externally regulated too?????
i didn't see a regulator on that alternator, and the hook ups looked exactly the same. it's just like replacing the alternator w/ acception to the plastic elbow piece.

Not to jack the thread, but you've inspired me to hit the P'n'P. Looking at the price list, would you say that a rear-end is all inclusive? The reason I ask is because they price discs and caliper and all seperately. I'm gonna hit it up on Saturday. Havent been there in months.

you may have your thread back?

From the looks of that....I would say it's not all inclusive. Matter of fact, I wonder it thats actually pricing the axle shaft. Good luck on your hunt.

The shafts are actually at the top under axles. I'm very confused. I'm still going saturday morning. All the explorers there are usually rear axle-less anyway. I'll ask them, but as most P'n'P employees they're not very cordial.

I already went to that Crazy Rays (Mt.Airy i assume) and the pickins are mighty slim. no jeeps. none. there are lots of crashed fords but they are all old, hence drum brakes on all the 8.8's. I dont know what your lookin for but if your diggin for an 8.8 keep your dollar entrance fee or look at other P'n'P's...

telly, if your looking for an 8.8, i have 2 of them w/ disc brakes and 3.73 gears complete....
i will sell them for $400 each, but i can't ship. i noticed you were in baltimore, which is about 4 hours away from me, so if you wanted to meet half way or something, i could do something for ya.
