Registered User Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Pittsburgh, PA Posts: 909 | I had to do my driver side floor as well. Its not bad if you can weld. Some 16 or 14 gauge sheet, a can of spray on bed liner and your set. p.s. I like fancy pedals. ![]() p.p.s. Gotta love living in the "Rust Belt"... __________________ www.pghoffroad.com If it has tracks, tires or tits, its gonna cause a problem. Quote:

Registered User | I had a 92 just like that (rust wise). I HIGHLY encourage you to recheck for significant frame rot. Even for that price, a frame-off resoration is the only real way to make a rotted frame sound. I could stick my fingers through way too many places on my old rig so I dumped it. Someone had coated the undercarriage with POR15 so it looked good when I bought it. But after a few months of owning and physically testing the frame rails, I realized that the POR15 was all that was left in some places! I'n not knocking POR15 but once the structure is gone, POR15 aint fixin anything. After my findings, I just didn't trust it anymore so I dumped it with full disclosure to the buyer. Just my $.02 Good luck!! |

Other then that I dont think you can complain for $450!!! |

![]() ![]() You got a great deal on that YJ whether you part it out or restore it. Like someone said, before you but any effort into the body take a screwdriver and stab the frame all over to make sure it's solid. If it's got a good frame it's salvageable. Me and him learned how to do body work from his father bringing it back. We did new drivers and passenger floors, one new quarter, the flat area in the back, half the other quarter, most of the top of the humps in the back, a good portion of the sides of those humps, and about another dozen patches on the outside. One mistake he made is buying replacement panels from JC Whitney. The only one we ended up using was one quarter panel and we had to modify it to fit and it still isn't quite right. Every other patch we just used steel shelving. Your floors won't look factory with the shelving but once you put some bed liner down you don't know the difference. | |
