Gonna buy one soon

Want a wrangler very badly, what are the best years and what should I look for when purchasing? Will be using in the sand and hills here in So. Cal. Any info will be appreciated.

You will want a 6 cylinder, fuel injected 4.0 liter. Some one correct me if I am wrong, but I think it was around 1990 the yj's went to fuel injection. I hear a lot of complaints here about carbs. I also belive that after 1995 they ceased making yj's and started calling them tj's. Yj's have the square head lights and tj's have the round ones. Again correct me if I am wrong,... 1991ish they improved the roll cage by running it back to give protection for the rear seat pasengers. Personally, I am also looking for one for the wife. I will buy one that is as close to 95, with out going over, in he best shape and milage for the money.
That's a start.
Good Luck
Peter

1991 was the first year for fuel injection. Everything else Birdawg said is right on the money. I second the 6cyl. If you are going to be in the dunes with it, a 4cyl will just pi$$ you off.
