Gas Mileage with 4.0 on 33's

Hey guys,

I am new to the YJ thing...just got my first one Saturday (1993). It is currently stock and I have big plans for her. I was thinking about going with 32's but I really want 33's, however it will be a daily driver. What kind of gas mileage are you guys getting with the 4.0 L? 31's and 32's compared to 33's. Thanks for any info.

Matt

If you bought ur YJ lookin for good gas mileage then you prob need to sell it. The gas mileage goes from bad to worse when you upgrade to bigger tires.

I didn't buy it for the gas mileage per say (I was driving a Ford 460 before). I was just wondering what the difference is. I don't even know what a stock yj gets.

I get anywhere from 12 to 15 mpg with my yj with 33X12.50s. So it's not that great, but not too bad.

My friend has a 4.0L/5-speed with 3.07 axle gears and 33x12.5" tires and she gets around 16-17 if she drives relatively conservatively.

4.0 5spd 4:10 gears 33x12.50 = 13.5 mostly around town driving. Slightly more if on hi way but not much. This is normal use, it is not a hot rod.

When you say Seafoam treatments, are you talking about the trick of sucking a bottle of it through a vacuum line? I've been thinking about trying this.
