which is fuel supply and which is return line

Under the Jeep trying to wrap up fuel lines for my 87 4.2L to 4.0HO engine swap. which is the fuel supply line and which is return line in the pic. Is it the one closer to the radiator (smaller diameter) or the other one (larger diameter)?

I have the same question for the stock sending unit. Is it the line closest to the front of the Jeep looking down at the tank (line to the left) or the line to the rear (right)?

Thanks. Do you know about the sending unit coming from the tank? They both are the same size. Chiltons doesn't label them and I can't find a good diagram on Google

On my 90, same size differential out of the tank. May be hard to tell with the dust & debris.

I do not recall the orientation.

Save this to your hard drive, it WILL come in handy.

This is from a member here, but I didn't save his name, would like to recognize his great work and contribution to the site.

Oops, this is appears to be a CJ on close inspection.

Thanks for the pic. I have all my fuel line ready to put in but just wanted to be sure before I put the tank back up. I have about 12v to the external fuel pump but the starter won't crank over. I think there some wires under the dash harness that are tripping me up now
