fuel smell?

I have a 92 Wrangler with the 2.5. I changed injectors to the 5.0 yellow cap injectors with the four hole. Seems to run better. But every time I down shift or come to a stop and put it in neutral it has a bad fuel smell. I don't remember if it did before I swapped them. I've had them in for months now. Anyone know what it could be?

Running rich probably, I don't have a remedy. Mines doing the same, I just left it since it's getting ripped out anyways

I think it's running rich too. I just didn't know if I had to do anything since the new injectors were added. Might be pushing to much gas in. Mine will be ripped out too but not for a while. Still building up my 350

Do the basics. Check the fuel pressure and the fault codes. Check the o2 sensor. Check the evap and tank vent lines. See if you smell it in the exhaust. Bad catalyst.

Get under your rig a sniff around. The rubber hoses are pretty old by now and may have split. I would start sniffing around the rear of the rig first.

If your nose has a hard time finding the leak, sniff some coffee grounds or beans to clear up the nostrils and continue sniffing around. Some times gas smell takes over the area.

Smelling gas is bad so be careful in your search.

ut do you think it will still smell like gas by the time I stop. It's only happens for a min or two when I downshift or out in neutral . By the time I stop it's gone
