Fuel Sending Unit/Pump - 1 unit in an 89?

OK...before anyone ask...i did do a search and can't seem to find a definate answer.

Is the fuel level sending unit and the fuel pump one unit in an 89 2.5l? I am looking to replace the sending unit and was planning on replacing the pump as well if it is located in the tank. Are they one unit? Is the fuel pump evem in the tank on an 89?

Could use some clarification...

Thank you in advance.

both in the tank, both are one unit, but you can replace just the fuel level sender or just the pump... you don't have to replace both if you don't want to....

I had trouble finding just the sending unit alone so I had to get them together.
