Fuel pump/fuel pressure testing

How do I know if the fuel pump is bad on my 89 2.5L? Is it easy to test fuel pressure on the engine? Are there any sensors to check first before dropping the tank and pulling the pump?

There are fuel pressure testers that you can connect right onto the fuel line itself. It is pretty easy to do yes. Some might mention to check all of your fuses/relays, I believe there is one for the fuel pump on the 89.

There is a fuel pump relay, You should run a fuel presssure test to make sure. You can rent the unit at most auto parts stores with a deposit that you get back when returned. If you need help do a test post back and we can tell you how its done. Pretty easy to do.
