Fuel guage inaccurate

OK guys let me tap into your wealth of knowledge.

When my fuel gauge is at 1/2 it means yer empty.

Pegs out past full when filled up, this normal or is there a way to adjust the float?

Also my temp gauge only goes up to like 140F i replaced the sending unit and ohm checked the wire, that mean the gauge is fubar? whats a good way to check the engine temp to verify gauge accuracy?

Lemme join the club

Mine too... I fill up around 190-200 miles to be safe and just reset the trip odometer each time I top it off.

So, any fixes?

Check sending unit. I wouldnt hesitate to replace it. The stock gauges are so inaccurate that they are nearly dead weight.

Mine goes all the way to empty "BUT" when it get to full I'm under a half a tank and when it says 1/2 you have got right at 20 miles to go. But I just go by odometer. 160 to 180 depending on a head wind , with a push I might even hit 200

Here is a thread that I started that will not only help fix the common ground problem with the fuel gauge but the other gauges that have a mind of their own..

???? Well mine runs better with my Weber but the gas mileage 160, to 180 I don't think it is to Hot for fuel economy, You pay for what you do to your Jeep, size Lift, size Tires, and all the Extras that catch wind, Im running a 6 on 33's and "youngster" shows to have a 4 banger on 35's there is my 10 mpg gain. You Play and you Pay, but I thought that was the main thing about a Jeep was PLAYING!!!!

I did this a few mos ago and its been great ever since. Basically just cleaning all the gage connectors and grounds.
Hope that helps.
