My 95 YJ has what appears to be a fuel filter/return line on top of the engine just before the carburator. What keeps the gas from draining back into the tank when its not running. I'm having fuel delivery problems and still trying to figure out my system. The jeep has a 360 V8 mechanical fuel pump.
Have you checked to see that you're getting good flow from the fuel pump? Is there any reason why the mechanical pump was used over the stock electric one? Just curious.
It shouldn't matter if the gas is leaving some of the line since the motor will prime it when you turn it over.
Electric fuel pump solved my problems. Something internal on the 360 is not operating the mechanical fuel pump enough to keep the bowl full of gas. Installed a holley electric pump and all is good now.
