front end questions
i just put a set of 31's on my 93YJ and when i i drive it about 55- 60 MPH i get a BAD vibration in the front end i thought it was from the tires not being balkanced right so i took them and had em done and watched as they all came 0.00 meaning the balance is good. someone told me it might be my steering stabilzer. How do i check it to see if it's bad? I got under it yesterday and looked at it i did notice a lil fuild on it like it has a bad seal but i would like to know how do i check it to be 100% sure it needs to be replaced?

Be careful when you replace the stabilizer - when I replaced mine the mounting bolt at the axle snapped off flush with the mount. It was a real PITA to drill out and install a new bolt stud. Maybe soak it in PB Blaster for several days before.

Do you have vibes in the back?
If not, but your back tires on the front. Same vibration? Then it's your front end components, ie: Ball joints, End links, wheel bearings, or suspension bushings etc.

Shifter extension?
Okay, stupid question...the used beat up YJ I bought has a shifter only about a foot off the floor. It has a 2.5 RE lift, as well as a 1 3/4" shackle lift. Is this due to the tranny not being raised? I don't know how long the shifters were to begin with, so I don't know. I did by a 3" shifter extension, but it doesn't thread down all the way and the shift nob doesn't fit. It seems eveything on this thing is hacked together, and I am just trying to make it a bit more driver friendly.
