Front drive shaft spins in 2 wheel and transfer case won't go into 4 h or 4 l

The transfer case says im in 2 wheel but my front driveshaft still spins and when i try to put it into 4 h or 4l the stick wont budge from 2h. Any suggestions

Im not too familier with YJs but I would check the linkage underneath. Maybe something got caught on something or the shifter came off the linkage.

Sounds like a linkage issue friend, also, when trying to engage, try placing vehicle in neutral... And as for the linkage, "all the way foward" on the lever that goes directly into the side of the t-case is 4wd engagement, while all the way toward the back of the jeep is 2wd... Keep that in mind when checking linkage.
