Ford 10.25 vs Ford 9"

I drive a 93 YJ w/ 4" lift and stock inline 6 . I just blew up my Dana 35 rear axle(suprise suprise). I am running 32" tires and a 4.0 liter motor. Gears are stock 3.55's . My buddy has a ford 10.25 rear axle that he said I could have for nothin. Here is my few questions. how much ground clearance do you think I would loss? I will be running 35 or 36" tires next(maybe a year from now). Or I could get a ford 9' from another buddy for 100 bucks. They both need brakes and would need to get re-geared obviously. let me know what you think. thanks

go 9 inch. 10.25's are pretty big, not sure about aftermarket support, but i know 9's have tons of it. i'm building a 9 right now, and i'll tell ya, it hasn't really blown my bank account out of the water, spooled, 4.88's. i spent 200 or so on gears, hundred bucks on the spool, 50 bucks on a new bigger shinier yoke, 30 bucks on a master install kit for the gears and i'll probably spend another 300 for custom axle shafts. when i first bought it like 3 years ago i payed 100 bucks for it and the first thing i bought was new drums, hardware and shoes for only like 150. so, actually, crap. i'm looking at like 930 bucks right there just for the initial set up. more then i thought, but spread out over some time it wasn't that bad. plus i just ordered new spring perches from more to set up spring over that cost me 45 bucks. well, get the 9, do the brakes, and regear the front, ... vhua la. your done!
