Flywheel inspection plate

Ok so I've searched the forums and found people who have the same problem I have which is "I was under my jeep fixing another problem" only to discover I can see my fly wheel. After a massive amount of searching I found the name was flywheel inspection plate or cover.

So now I looked to see where to find one. People said eBay, Craigslist, forums, etc. but I'm not having any luck. So I figured I would start this thread for people who might have found one help those find one who need it!

Let me know where you found it or if you fabricated it or what!

Thanks!

LOUD, isn't it! Mine's been missing since I had the engine rebuilt. Scares the heck out of bystanders!

The 2.5 cover on my 94 does not come off without dropping the tranny, covers the whole backside of the engine. without it your clearance between the input shaft and the pilot bearing also you clutch may be wacky....

You can still drive the jeep regardless of the inspection plate. Mine has been missing for years and as long as your not going mudding and throwing mud everywhere you will be fine for road driving.

That's all I bought it for was mudslinging!! I have a daily driver.

I found a website that makes factory chrysler parts. It's $53 with shipping but doesn't include bolts but I can pick them up at home depot or lowes. The bolts were way too expensive ordering through them.

www.factorychryslerparts.com (go figure huh it would be that easy?)

All 2.5 with manual trans should use the same piece... Its just really a flat piece of sheet metal with some holes punched in it... But if yours is like mine you'll have to drop the tranny to install it...

Not what I want to hear for just a thin piece of sheet metal. Hoping just to find the part. My chrysler website didn't have them.
