Are you planning on doing your own or buying a pre-bent kit?

I was planning to buy something, likely poison spyder, simply because I don't have the ability to cut, bend and notch all the tubing.

That's cool. There are a ton of options out there. To be honest, there are several places that have prices on the larger main components of a cage that are nearly cheaper shipped than buying the tubing in some parts of the country. A few months ago, I helped a buddy of mine put a new cage in his '73 Bronco. He found a B hoop pre-bent for that vehicle that was only $20 or so more expensive shipped than if he had bought another stick of tubing to make it himself. He felt it was worth 20 bucks to save the time in making it. He just built the rest.

Just checking out your build great job! Did you do all that welding with that Lincoln? Is it a 110?

Waiting on my Rough Country lift to sag!

Technically, I'm one of those too, I just don't freely admit it. I'm sworn as a deputy coroner and my full time job is as a RN Consultant/Investigator for the Attorney General. We like cops too, they make great "firefighter canaries" on our Haz Mat scenes when they rush in and park their cruisers in the middle of the spill. Just kidding!

Thanks man! Yep, everything except for most of the welding done on the 8.8. I had my local shop do that for me. The guy that did that for me does a lot of axle tube welding for pulling trucks, so I figured he would do a MUCH better job than I could. He's hasn't had a failure yet as far as I know. The only concern I've had was welding the high steer brackets to the knuckles. Because the knuckle is a big heat sink, I spent a lot of time pre and post heating those followed by very slow cooling. So far so good. I've checked them several times now and no signs of failure. The welding there was simply a back up to the gigantic hardware that comes with them anyway.

That little Lincoln has done a great job for me. You just have to know it's limitations and work with what you've got. A new Miller 211 is on my wish list toward the end of the year.... :fingers crossed:

Thanks again!
