so i bought this jeep seven years ago for 400 bucks. was told it needed a motor, trans rebuild, suspension work.... and the list went on. so after a tranny rebuild and alil tlc.... is was running on the orriginal motor, completely stock everything. last spring, i finally decided on my engine swap and started gathering pieces. i took a 4.3 vortec marine engine and went to town with a full rebuild, and got a junk yard donor for bolt-ons, fuel and electrical. i went with an 01 4.3 csfi from a blazer and a 4l60e trans to a np231cj conversion. after nine months down time its finally home where it belongs. here are some pics.
here it is in and running.... sounds great and cranks out some nice power. i really think the 8.8 swap might be alittle closer than i thought. after reading tons of posts about an OBA system, i went with it and love it so far... havent needed to test it yet except to add some air to the wifes escape.
overall, very happy with the end result and couldnt be happier with the companies that helped make it all possible.
motor mounts from Novak Conversions
wire harness an computer reflash from FI Specialties
VSS kit from Novak Conversions
fuel line adapters from Fitch Fuel Catalyst
ooooooowwwwfff..........couldnt even guess but id say if i didnt slack around and with an extra set of hands to be my "tool handler" so i didnt have to stop and get what i needed, including the rebuild,i could have done it in 3 weeks of 8 our days....maybe?
i bet i could figure a better time line for each stage.

How about this, if you had the Jeep Spirit, you wouldn't abuse the rest of us trying to enjoy a nice day out wheeling by bringing your brokeass broken down junkyard crap out to play where it can't handle it?[/QUOTE]

yes. simple swap. very strong and has the same lug pattern. there are 8.8 swap and info threads everywhere on the forum. make sure you find the right gear ratio. you can find the ratio chart in other threads
