I may have missed it earlier, but if you don't mind me asking, how much money do you have in this project so far?


'95 YJ, 4.0L, 5spd., paying for school...edit, out of school trying to get a job to pay for school...edit, have a job, now I don't have time.

I added everything up, every part I used was new, right around $500.
spark plugs were a pain in the *** before with the A/C. The turbo does not get in the way. I had to change the plugs with the turbo actually to a few degree range colder plug. Video maybe tomorrow, have a little get together that I will be at along with the turbo cherokee.

Wow that is great! If you made a detailed how to, I would love you forever...lol, or at least point me in the right direction.

I would still really reccomend some heat shielding on the Distributor cap and wires. I've seen those melt fairly easily.... and that turbo is sitting pretty close.

I've never seen anyone put forced induction on a 4x4. That is pretty wild! I bet people scratch their heads when they hear a BOV releasing on a YJ! Subscribed!!!

Yes, a person can do the same with a 2.5L, technically you can turbo any engine, even supercharged engines... with enough time, investment, and math...

Anyway, what size turbo are you running? I have a half decent amount of experience working with turbo cars and honestly even if its a cheap liquid to air intercooler, its better than nothing and will definitely help with your power overall, even at low speeds.

I also agree on heat shielding the dizzy cap and wires, they do melt easily.

Are you running the stock manifold to a custom pipe going around the engine?

+1000 for doing what I've always dreamed of.

that is sweet, keep us updated as you work out all the kinks and glitches, I have everything on hand to do this that I purchased to a turb FI sand rail and never got around to doing it, might as well put it in the jeep. even got a laptop programmable computer, but i'd rather not use it if the factory computer works good. and where's that video????

Did you ever make it to the dyno...? What power numbers were/are you hoping for? like 200HP+225TQ to the ground?

Yes you can do it on a 2.5 but it is not quite as easy as the stock computer does not know what to do with all the signals after about 3-4 psi of boost. It dosent have any fuel map to follow after that point. It can be done but you would need to utalize another fuel controller EG megasquirt, MAP Ecu, or a stand alone system. mega squirt can still be cost effective.

I also would like to know what size turbo you are running and the specs on it? AR ratio....thanks
