Few YJ 4.0 Turbo picts- dyno vids added

Finally finishing up this little project with a buddy of mine. Will be finishing the exhaust Friday night. I drove it the other night and people were confused, noises like that should not be coming from a Jeep. Ill get some more picts up later. Still have to put the heat shield I made for the battery in and put the vent in the hood. Not running an intercooler, instead I will be running a water/meth injection system. Fuel was done with a booster pump and 12:1 FMU. I moved the intake air temp to the charge pipe to help combat the computer pulling timing. So far the thing pulls pretty good. only running 7 PSI not, will be up to 12psi after the water/meth in is.

thanks for gettin em up man!! stock internals for now. comp ratio is 8.8:1 which is pretty good for boost. when it dies I will build the motor, maybe do a stroker with the turbo. I'll post up the dyno numbers when I get them, hopefully next week or the week after

you just run an exhaust pipe underneath the motor to put the turbo on that side? and no air to water intercooler? there's a company out of australia that makes barrel shaped straight air to water intercoolers, complete with pump, reservoir and heat exchanger. a little bit of google should find them pretty easy.

Very cool setup. Let us know what kind engine management you chose to run. Was goin to turbo mine but decided to go with an eaton m90 instead.

Looks good! I've been debating whether or not to start accumulating parts to build my own turbo kit. Up in the air about it still...

If the FMU doesn't work out look into the Split Second controller. A member over on 4Bangerjp.com has had very good luck with his, and seems to be the answer to the ECU's closed-loop system. It's pricey, but again if it doesn't work out it's something to look into http://www.splitsec.com/

My turbo is sized really good for the motor, I would say that at normal crusing speed there is no lag at all, and yes it is a home made kit. I was going to intercool it but after thinking about it I opted not to because an intercooler will just take up space and moving a 2 mph on the trail, the IC will not do a thing. Instead I will be running a water/meth injection setup. That way everytime i hit enough boost i will be a nice cool dense air charge. Im running 7psi now, the water/meth will come on a 4psi. no chips or computer mods. just used a 12:1 FMU and a booster pump. jeep pulls really hard actaully and is really nice to drive. Im located in central CT, Newington to be exact. i'll get the numbers up as soon as i get to the dyno
