Thanks again for the link and info. I'll get you a picture of the boots on my Jeep as soon as I can. I've had a long weekend of stolen truck and grad school work. Hopefully I can get down where the Jeep is next weekend and get a little work done on it.

hate to quote myself, but needed to get the pic quick.

anyways, you can see the tab at the bottom of the pic. the four open holes are for hooking up linkage.

also the way it mounts on the 700r4, alot of that junk is above the bottom of the tub, thus making the little shift boot useless.. i can probably either remake my mounting bracket and try to push that crap back below the tub- but it might mess up the linkage angle... or i will just figure out a better boot situation. probably option b

Thats a shifter for a 3 speed manual... cool idea though the way its set up, just make sure if you ever have to let anyone drive it they know whats up. I have a B&M megashifter in my other car and I had to let the guy move it for emissions testing... I heard my car slam from drive to reverse about 6 times before he figured out how to use it. I wasnt too happy.

I hate letting people drive any of my stuff unless its just a beater or whatever but still sometimes you cant avoid it.

Okay, so I found the shifter at AutoZone and I've looked it over a couple of times to get it straight in my head, but I have another question for you. How is your shifter setup so that it doesn't disengage one side while engaging the other? What I mean is, when you use one side as (let's say your auto) and the other (transfer case) how do you keep from having to shift you auto into rev or neutral or whatever when you cross over to the transfer case side? Or on the flip side, how do you keep from having to knock it out of 4x when you cross over to the auto side? It seems to me that linkage moves to engage or disengage depending on where the shifter is in reference to "neutral". I like the shifter but for my setup, one side is (high-neutral-low) the other side is (high-neutral-low) I haven't been able to figure out how to keep from pulling one side out of high when I cross over to shift the other side into high. I hope this makes some kind of since. If not, I'll try to explain it better.

i see what you mean about switching sides... im not that far yet.

its mounted and the linkages are ran, but im debating that issue myself at this point.

im thinking about grinding the tab back on the t-case side so that ill be able to move it freely between the two sides before tilting the shifter enough to lock in to that particlular tab for that side.

only thing is ill have to remember where i am.. which shouldnt be hard... im either in 2 hi and d... or 4 low crawling in 1st
