Family bar for 89yj

I was curious if a 94 roll bar would fit a 89, and how much does it need to be modified

bolts right in. I did it. depending on rust etc, it should be a good swap. only thing you may need to do is widen a hole or two on the mounts for the main hoop to the floor.

So it just bolts right to the tub on the family bar section? I'm fortunate to not have any rust whatsoever on frame or tub

Yes, you will probably have to slot the rear just a little but it is real real close. I have one for mine because of the GF's teen son. Lately in dealing with the teen I have been thinking that I should remove it........

Like others have said, it should bolt right in. I just swapped my f*cked up family cage for the old fashioned "kid crusher," and the only thing I had to modify was the outer most hole on the floor mount of the main hoop. Just had to ream the hole out about 1/8". I'd recommend pulling one of the torx bolts out before you start, taking it to a fastener store, and picking up all new, grade 8 bolts to replace them with. I picked up all 12 for under $4.00.

Cheers

Not a bad price... check craigslist and post a wanted ad. I found somone with the family bar that wanted to trade, making the swap free.
