Factory hard top lift gate replacement

The mobile search does not seem to work well, and what I have found has been mostly different from what I need.
I see tons of posts and Google results on trying to repair the lift gate for the hard top, but mine is waaay beyond repair, the PO welded the hinges to the gate, and most of the inside layer of metal is rusted and gone, I honestly don't know what is keeping the glass in! In all of the repair posts they mention not wanting to spend 3-400 on a fiberglass replacement, but I have yet to find the product they are mentioning. All I find is trim and glass. Anyone have a link to a replacement rear hatch for the stock hard top for a 93 wrangler? Thanks!!

Not sure if I understand what lift gate is, I'm very new to Jeeps.
I just read a thread about hardtops and somebody had a link to Quadratec. They have replacement back glass and the trim piece on the bottom.
Hope this is what your looking for.

Maybe pictures would help because I'm a bit lost as to what you're talking about. My old hardtop didn't have anywhere to weld to.

Here's the thread kneedlebug was talking about from a few days ago. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/h...d-top-4159186/

Before anything else, THIS IS NOT THE JEEP IN QUESTION!
This is my Jeep, and it is an 85, but the parts are similar (I am nowhere near the jeep I am talking about)

The Hinges are welded where the arrows are, there are no fasteners in the holes.

The entire liftgate needs replacing, the glass is fine, but all the steel around the glass is rusted to almost nothing.

The picture where I am pointing, all the steel you can see is mostly or completely gone or rusted to the strength of paper.

Pictures here

(I am going to go double check, but I am wondering if I am dealing with a CJ top on a YJ. I will investigate tomorrow.)

Mystery solved, it is a CJ top on a YJ.
I did find a lift gate for it, though they are expensive.
I am going to try the lexan route first.

Just saw this again, but yeah that's 100% a CJ top, YJ tops are fiberglass around there, thus the original confusion. Glad you got it figured out.
