Which exhaust manifold to buy?

I'm in the market for a new exhaust manifold. Mine has a couple decent size cracks in it and sounds horrible. But I've been searching on here and some people like the ebay manifold http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-4-0-EXHAUST-MANIFOLD-w-GASKET-cherokee-wrangler-HQ_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhas hZitem33547b6003QQitemZ220460703747QQptZMotorsQ5fC arQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories ,some dont but it goes for $150 w/ gasket and free shipping. What about the manifold quadratec has http://www.quadratec.com/products/27601_06_07.htm it goes for $150 without shipping and gasket.I would trust quadratec over ebay but what have you guys had luck with?

Manifolds are notorious for cracking, not a matter of if but when, I'm not sure about the integrity of the aftermarket ones, but if it's out and you are replacing why not spend the few extra bucks on a header? I think I saw some on 4wd.com for fairly reasonable, just a suggustion.

EDIT, just seen this for $50 more, might be worth looking in to-

Good luck!

The latest cost on the Ebay manifold I saw was 66 SHIPPED... that may change the equation for you.

I have the Rugged Ridge Stainless header... a lot more money, but I love it.

Clifford Performance has a header that looks exactly like a borla and it's stainless for only $250. Would have bought it had I known.

You can get the eBay one directly from the seller & skip the eBay BS by going to www.1aauto.com and you'll still get the same price. I've used them in the past & they are good parts at great prices! The folks at www.1aauto.com are good to deal with as well.

I picked up an ebay header for mine a few months ago. Like $175 shipped with gasket. Looks the same as the stainless steel rugged ridge one without the flex pipe sections. It survived having the head pipe pulled and crushed on a rock without any problems. Watch getting one with the flex pipe, everyone of those I've seen has broke at one of the folds.

I thought the ones with the flex pipe helped prevent cracks? Or is it just vibrations?

From the ones I've seen running the flex pipe, they prevent cracks to the rest of the manifold by reducing the vibrations from the front and back of the engine. But the flex pipe is normally made of such cheap material that it doesn't hold up to the heat for very long and if you've properly tightened it there shouldn't be any vibrations. I say If you want something that is going to last spend a little, one for $66 isn't likely to be even up to oem standards when quality ones go for well over $200. And you don't see borla, gibson, or banks using the flex pipe on the high dollar units.
