Evolution of my $500 farm Jeep

Bought my 1989 YJ in January of this year from a farmer in Indiana. It had spent most of it's life outside and the brake lines had rusted and cracked. The owner wanted it gone and I picked it up for $500. It has been rehabbed and although it's not prefect it has never let me down. I love it!

The day I bought it...

Replacing all of the brake lines with stainless hardware...

Rattlecan military khaki paintjob...

3" lift using a 2.5" RC lift and 1/2" Daystar lift shackles along with 31" Yokohama Geolanders...

Nice find and nice job.

I would rather have a broke Jeep, than no Jeep at all.

Looking good so far man, how many miles were on it when you purchased it from the farmer?

It had almost 270k miles on it. I had the 258 rebuilt two months ago and upgraded with a Comp Cam, MC Carb, full exhaust, and a heavy duty radiator.

Wow it looks like you definitely scored a deal on the jeep. the body looks straight. that alone is worth the 500. nice find man, good luck with the build.

That's a monster of a front bumper there, guess the farmer anticipated the possibility of hitting livestock?

More like herding livestock. You'd be surprised how far a jeep will push a cow.
