Evolution of an islander

Evolution of an islander? well it's my not quite a build of my heep. I kinda wanted to show what I have done and the changes it has gone through.

1) this is new (to me) sitting on the mom & pop car lot

2) I just had to take the hard top off and I put some slightly used 29" BFG A/T's on

3) hard top back on and new used front bumper

4) 4inch lift, still 29 inch tires

5) added overhead console and CB

Thats a very clean YJ! I wonder if that was the factory color of the hardtop? There was talk a few threads ago about hardtops being body color and I stated that I had never seen a white hardtop on a white Jeep.
Do you have a soundbar with that overhead console?
Oh and you forgot to mention the mirror change and relocation!

7) changed out the int lights for blue led's inc the dash

8) got my winch

9) got some used 32' mudders, mounted them on a set of factory rims painted black

10) then I got froggy and got a soft top, half doors, flares, rear swing out tire carrier, black rock rims and the biggie...a set of BFG A/T 33inch tires

today I put the rocker guards and nerf bars on
next is end of summer my painter will paint a new windshield frame, repair the cowl where it is leaking and then paint the whole thing, thinking I may change the color but I think I may stick to black and white

...god ...im responding to two different "islander related" threads right now. I might/might not be the biggest/most obnoxious jeep forum (original)islander advocate.

oh I left out some things, I had a "trunk" built with a locking flip up door so we can put my wife's purse in and lock it from the seats, last week I cut two holes and put 6x9 speakers in so I have just a little bass but can hear the radio going down the road with the top down

yea I like the islander look too I called the people who have the kit and asked if they could do the stripes in black but they said only in blue so I may just try it a different way like painting or custom making a black and orange set.

Funny, when I get back to the states, I going to paint my black hardtop gray!

Why did you get rid of the factory sidesteps?

well the 32inch mudders I had were rubbing and it did not have much turn so I got the black rock rims with 4inch back spacing and put new 33 inch tires on which stuck out real far and the flares would hit so I put the 7inch flares on but I did not want to paint them so what to do ? have white steps and black flares or paint the steps black and then it would look like two different blacks, so I took the step off and since the idiot that painted it had not taken anything off I had a two tone white that looked bad, hence the rocker guards and the step bars or nerf bars. oh and it made it a whole lot easier for the wife to climb in. lol and I am liking the look, now picture this; the sun on the Islander is part covered by the rocker guards, what if i painted the Islander sun on and painted it on the guards, hmmm

oh it does have the fact sound bar but some one has replaced the speakers and it sounds good, I also forgot why I put the 6x9's in the trunk, the front speakers had also been changed out to a good set but whoever put them in did not space them out so the tweeter on the right one had bent and it rattled real bad if I turned it up for topless riding. I had ordered the mirror's and relocate kit and the day they got here while on my way home to get the ups package at lunch the glass fell out of the right mirror! talk about timing, lol.

Reason I was wondering about the soundbar was because of the overhead console. Was wondering if it interfered with it or not. Which soundbar is it?
