If i remove the trac bars...

will it still pass saftey? What are the benefits and it does improve ride quality right. I am on the fence about removing the trac bars.

Mine are gone as well as the sway bar. Haven't missed them either.

Not even close to answering the OP's question.

But that sounds like you think those of us that advocate their removal are all dumb rednecks.

Could it be that we have had Jeeps (like my CJ's) that were never equipped with them, and we fully understand why they were added but we choose to live without Big Brother attempting to make every aspect of life "safe" and idiot-proof?

Maybe we've logged tens of thousands miles without them, and are satisfied with the results?

If you are so paranoid that you may "careen and die any second" then maybe you should consider purchasing some uber-safe type of appliance disguised as a vehicle?

To attempt to answer the OP's question, it would depend on the inspection station, and the state/province vehicle code where you live. I hope that someone from your home state/province will offer you some insight that you can use.

I keep forgetting states have inspection.

I personally like having the trac/sway bars currently. At least in my Jeep.

I've heard of some peoples close encounters and I'd rather not risk it.

I have never heard of anyone who has had a problem after removal. A lot of people have "had a friend" who had problems, but never the person themselves.

YJ's arent bad. I have driven around in my dad's YJ for many miles and with the stiffer springs for the lift, you can handle just fine maybe unless you go over 65ish..but it wont go over 65 w/ a 2.5L

NO WORRIES!

In Ontario, if originally equiped must be there. Kinda like seatbelts only need if they came stock.

Sway and trac bar locations

i have taken the long bar across my front axle off. I think it is the sway bar but not sure. I wanna take my trac bars off but not sure where they are located. Can anyone help?

btw the only reason im doubting myself that what i think the swaybar is might not be the sway bar is cause everyone says it changes the way your jeep handles, but i havent noticed it at all.

thanks in advance
