At 25" you might get lucky and mount it on the wheelwell between the battery and the ac mount. That's where mine is anyway, with gauges and regulator.

Under the floor right against the step to the back seat. I've seen others there.

The most you can fill that is about 160 lbs. I don't think that will pose a safety problem at all filled with air. Place it where you want.

If punctured the most that will happen is a poof of air. Big deal.

I have to disagree big time with your statement. Once a tank full of air gets a tear in it the tear doesn't just vent the air. It tends to blast the tank open. I had a 5 gallon tank on a air compressor blow and it shot the whole contraption 15+ feet in the air. You do not want an air tank anywhere it is easily subject to damage.

Ever heard how loud of a noise a tire makes when it pops. And that is only 30 some psi. When you have over a 100 psi and a medal tank gives out, you potientally got deadly schrapnal every where.

I tried this set up this morning (at 3AM) and it didnt fit.
It hit the battery on one end and the reinforcement bar that goes to the grill
on the other .Did you move your battery back towards the fire wall?

the OBA parts are gathered

I went to Lowes home center today and picked up the remaining parts needed for my oba ( 64.00 worth)
You would think this is a cheap project but it all adds up quick
[IMG][/IMG]
I may be able to do the install this sunday
I am only missing two 1/4 inch plugs for the tank and the power switch.
Some of the unwrapped parts were FREEBIES

Im obsessed with my jeep, I have 3 projects going at one time
OBA
shackle lift
motor mount lift
and the average temp here is 30.And now I found that I have to install recovery hooks in time for the NY Jeep jamboree!!!
its only an hour from my house

I merged not one...not two...or even three.....

I merged 7 threads regarding your OBA project. Try and keep your projects "tidy." It get's hard sifting through 6 posts from the same person regarding the same topic.

Thanks,

-Scott

Wow!!
Thanks Scott for doing this. What a messy trail of posts I have been leaving. Its almost embarrasing but a good lesson taught.
From now on this is my official oba project post

I started my OBA several months ago. I mounted a York from a Wagoneer to my 4.2L with brackets I fabbed up. I ordered a tank online from a lowrider airbag site. Ordered a pressure swith and some fittings. I have some of the stuff, but never finished it. The tank sits in the floor in my shop and the fittings are in a little box in the house.

I decided I wanted to build a 383 stroker motor and TH350 trans for my YJ, so I hope I can make a bracket to fit the York on the chevy V8.

We are planning to buy a house and move, and getting married in March, so the Jeep projects got stalled out. The V8 is sitting on the engine stand all stripped down and the 383 engine kit is sitting in the house still in the box. Never opened it yet. The jeep runs and drives, so didn't want to tear it apart and then need to move. Didn't want to complete the OBA for an engine that will be ripped out. Not sure what I'll do anymore.
